Soon the cry will echo: “Christ is Risen Indeed!”
But before that joyous morning, there is still a great part of the journey to complete…
As we wrap up Lenten Wednesday night worship, be sure to check out the prayer stations that have been set up in the library. Contemplative prayer has always been a part of Lenten discipline, and these stations allow one to engage in this discipline in a wonderful and fulfilling manner. The stations are available Wednesdays during Lent as well as on Sunday mornings from 8-8:30AM and from 11AM to 12:30PM.
Our FINAL Wednesday night service will occur on April 5th (7pm), and then we will prepare for Holy Week with the cantata, “Behold the Lamb!” There will be two services on Palm Sunday (8:30 and 10:45am).
As always with our “special schedule,” we will share in a wonderful reception provided by our Fellowship Committee. (Please also note, so that our teachers and youth can fully participate in this fellowship, there will be no ROC on Palm Sunday!)
So, come early or stay late on this date, and PLEASE do not let our children miss out on hearing and seeing this remarkable service!
The experience of Palm Sunday is really essential to our experience and understanding of Easter! And, once again, the combined efforts of our musicians, singers, and dancers promises to provide a worship service like no other!
Next, we will journey through Holy Week, beginning with a new “tradition” on Maundy Thursday.
On Maundy Thursday (April 13th) our observance will begin with shared Fellowship and a Soup Supper! For those who miss our Lenten “soup gatherings,” this will be a chance to meet, share a meal, and celebrate our life and work together.
Then, we will participate in a NEW Maundy Thursday service that will be centered on confession and contemplation—the perfect way to enter the “Triduum,” the three days concluding with Easter.
On Good Friday, we will once again share in the intimate and moving “Stations of the Cross” service. This service, which does not include a sermon, is based on readings and special music provided by Trinity’s soloists and musicians. As always, the church will be darkened as we remember the final moments of the earthly life of our savior.
If you have not experienced this service, you do not want to miss it this year!
Finally the celebration BEGINS with Easter Sunday! Our regular service schedule will be in place, ROC classes will meet, and a beautiful experience surrounding the resurrection of our savior will be shared by all!
We are so blessed at Trinity! Join us as we live out this blessing in this holy and important time of year.
Thank you for sharing our life and work together!
