Our summer mission team may not be serving in Guatemala; however, a site has been selected and digging for the water well project is moving forward. The area is still under strict regulations due to COVID-19 so it may be another month until drilling begins.
The site is for an orphanage, “Village of Hope”, which keeps children in family like settings, not typical barrack like rooms. They also have their own church services and small Christian school. Currently they purchase water from trucks which goes into a holding tank. This is very costly and they must be very conservative with water usage.
The cost of building a well is $6,000. Thank you Trinity members for supporting this project, bringing our total to $4,200. This has been sent and a message received from Servants Hearts Ministries: “Thank you for being a huge blessing and helping in this way.” ~and whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple—truly I tell you, none of these will lose their reward.
